The boom began just over a decade ago after a few industrial factories were converted into trendy residential lofts and commercial space. It’s the tech capital of Toronto start-ups and home to many well established dotcom and film companies. The explosion of condo and loft developments are now home to Toronto’s highest concentration of yuppies (young urban professionals) who are enjoying the abundance of new furniture galleries, restaurants, bars and gyms recently introduced to the area. Other pluses to this hood are Lamport Stadium which hosts soccer and ultimate Frisbee leagues, rock climbing fun at Joe Rockheads and super easy access to BMO Field and the Gardiner Expressway.
